At A1 dental Belconnen, we use dental sealants to secure your teeth from decay…

Before
Dental sealants are flowable resin coatings applied to the grooves on the back of your teeth, to prevent them from decay.
Layered protection
Sealants protect these surfaces from tooth decay, by preventing germs and food particles from entering the grooves. The composite can be clear, white or tinted to blend in with your natural tooth colour.
Sealant application

After
Sealing the grooves in your teeth does not require extracting any of the tooth's natural structure. After the tooth is cleaned, a special composite is placed on the chewing surface. The tooth is then rinsed and dried for the sealant to then be applied. A heat-activated light may also be used harden the sealant.
Durable compound
A durable sealant can last up to few years if looked after. Sealants should be checked upon each dental visit and can be reapplied if they have disappeared from wear.
