Digital X-rays and Intraoral pictures

World-class dentists, World class facilities = World-class treatment

There’s a reason dentists have so much equipment in their surgeries – many potential dental problems are hidden from view. We have invested heavily in the latest assessment and treatment technologies so we can provide a world-class service without sending you off to someone else. We use up to-date digital xrays , where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. Also less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.

On-the-spot diagnosis and assessment We have all the latest diagnostic equipment located on-site.

Our facilities include:

  • Intra-oral cameras – provide an image of each tooth so we can pick up potential problems early.
  • X-ray equipment – highlights tooth decay and bone-loss issues.
  • OPG – allows us to identify problems with the jawbone such as infections, tumours, congenital abnormalities, pre-implant evaluation and trauma.

Intra-oral Camera

The Intra-oral camera allows your dental surgery dentist to see each tooth magnified in colour on a computer screen. Diagnosis is much simpler and the camera allows us to show you clearly what may be wrong. A small, sterilised camera is moved around inside your mouth providing a tooth-by-tooth video examination. We can then freeze and store the picture for a closer look. Still images may be kept for our records for future reference.

Digital X-Rays

Dental x-rays show up your teeth and bones. X-rays can show tooth decay, hidden dental structures and bone loss that may not be visible during a visual examination.

OPG

The OPG is a special method for obtaining radiographs of the teeth-bearing jaws, both upper and lower. This specially constructed machine rotates around the jawbones giving us an extremely good indication of their structure.

This is enormously useful in diagnosing and treating a wide-variety of conditions such as dental trauma, infections, tumours and congenital abnormalities. It is also valuable for pre-implant evaluation.
