Dental Inlay and Onlay can restore cracked or damaged teeth with small amounts of decay…
If you have teeth that are mildly cracked, damaged or decayed, we may be able to use porcelain/ceramic Inlay or Onlay to restore your natural tooth structure. Inlay and Onlay can be created from porcelain or ceramic material to look completely natural.
Inlay
Dental Inlay are used to restore damaged to a tooth that is decayed, broken or damaged on the crest of the tooths surface.
Onlay
Onlay are used to treat decay and cracks that extend below the surface, but are strong enough to be rendered with a thin composite.
Benefits
Inlay and onlay are ways of repairing relatively extensive tooth decay or damage without having to replace the whole outer portion of the tooth as with a crown. Less tooth material is removed so they tend to be more conservative, strong and last longer.
Restoration
An optical impression will be taken with the CEREC 3D camera of your tooth after the preparation and the model of your tooth appears on screen. Whilst you watch, your new restoration will be designed on screen and then milled out of a solid porcelain block. The finished restoration is then bonded to your tooth, just in one single visit.
