Dr Shareif Elhoufy

Shareif is a qualified Dentist with over twenty-five years of experience, with an Australian Dental Council certificate (ADC) and is a federal member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA). Shareif believes that a personalised patient centred philosophy has led to the continual growth of A1 Dental. He strives to not only provide great care, but to have complete and comprehensive treatment plans in which his patients understand. Shareif adopts a conservative approach to dentistry combining function and aesthetics with cutting edge methods and materials. He has interest in all facets of Dentistry, especially: Preventative Dentistry, Patient Education, White Ceramic Restorations and Root Canal Conservative Therapy. Shareif is strongly committed to ongoing postgraduate education and in 2010 commenced the prestigious Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons MRACDS education programme for the greater benefit of his patients. Aside from being a dentist, Shareif also enjoys spending time with his family.

Dr Mohamed Elfar

Mohamed graduated in 2000, obtaining a Bachelor Degree of Dental Science (BDS) Honours degree from Ain Shams University (Cairo, Egypt). He was selected to study a Master of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and work in the university as an assistant lecturer. The MSc (oral and Maxillofacial surgery) was granted after his thesis defence in 2010 from Al-Azhar University (Cairo, Egypt). He undertook advanced training in oral implantology, bone grafting and reconstructive dentoalveolar surgery. Mohamed is registered as an Oral and Maxillofacial specialist in Egypt. He has been working in the private practice as a general dentist in Australia since 2008 and established his own dental practice in Canberra in 2011. Mohamed was granted the Membership of the Royal Australian College Dental Surgeon (MRACDS) in 2013 after completing 2 years of further study. In the year 2015, he was granted Fellowship in the International Academy for Dental-Facial Esthetics. Mohamed was granted the ICOI Fellowship and ASID fellowship in 2019. Mohamed’s dentistry skills are constantly expanding, with his most recent achievement completing 2 years of study and practicing orthodontics for the past 9 years. He has successfully completed his Graduate Diploma of Orthodontics in 2020 with a distinction from James Cook University. Dr Elfar is committed to long-life learning and staying updated with the latest knowledge/technology in implant dentistry.

Dr Taban Napaki

Taban graduated from James Cook University with Distinction and was awarded membership to the Golden Key International Honour Society for her academic performance. She has experience working in both public and private practice and is passionate about preventative dentistry and helping individuals take control over their oral health. Taban takes the time to ensure that you are comfortable during your visit and understand your oral health status and treatment options. She believes patient education forms an integral part of any dental visit and strives to ensure her patients have a positive experience.

Dr Tristan Ollis 

Tristan completed his dental studies at Griffith University on the Gold Coast and began his career working in private practice in Hervey Bay (QLD). As a Canberra native, Tristan was keen to return home and is excited to work at A1, a practice which shares his dental aspirations and treatment philosophies. Tristan prides himself on a calm and gentle demeanour as he understands that the best dentistry begins with an exceptional dental experience. He is a strong believer in empowering patients with the knowledge to improve their dental hygiene and partake in dental decision making. Tristan aims to work with his patients to create tailor made and long-lasting treatment solutions unique to each individual’s needs, circumstances, and preferences. In his down time Tristan is very active and frequently partakes in the Canberra Park runs, social basketball and hikes in the Canberra region. A foodie at heart, he is always keen to cook/bake and especially eat new and exciting cuisines. 

Dr Michael Barin 

Michael believes that empathetic, clean, and honest communication is key to empowering his patients with their own dental health. When you visit, whether it’s for routine check-up for you and your family or a major procedure, Michael works to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. His focus is on good communication with his patient and management of dental anxiety. He enjoys looking after families and young children and has a particular interest in oral surgery, dental implants, and aesthetic dentistry. Michael completed an honours degree in political economy at Sydney University before moving overseas to live, work and travel. He returned to his alma mater to complete dentistry as a graduate student. His interest in health and wellbeing extends beyond the clinic which he works to achieve for himself through good food, rock climbing, Skiing and being active with his young family and their border collie.

Dr Mustafa Mahar

Dr Mustafa graduated dental school with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and Master in Dentistry degree from Griffith University in Queensland. During his study, he received 3 awards in academic excellence, and the Dean’s commendation upon graduation. He gained extensive experience working in QLD, prior to joining the A1 team in January 2020. Patients appreciate his gentle manner and the dedicated time he spends in ensuring they make an informed decision for their oral health. Mustafa believes in preventative and evidence-based care for his patients. He is an active member of the ADA (Australian Dental Association) and regularly attends continuing professional development courses to stay updated on recent advancements in dentistry. His interests are crown and bridge work, root canal treatment, and kids’ dentistry – his Master’s research focused on managing dental behaviour in mildly apprehensive children using interactive visual cards. Outside of dentistry, he is an avid sports enthusiast – he particularly likes cricket and soccer. He also captained Griffith University in table tennis at the annual Australian University Games. He enjoys spending time with family and eating out at restaurants. 

Dr Arash Mohseni

Dr Arash holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Sydney. Prior to calling Canberra home, he gained valuable experience working in the private sector in Newcastle, focusing on regional health. Originally from Vancouver, he swapped the perpetual drizzle of the Pacific Northwest for the sun-kissed atmosphere of Australia. Dr Arash finds joy in all facets of general dentistry and is deeply committed to minimal intervention dentistry, prioritizing patient education. He cultivates a serene and relaxing environment, ensuring quality care with a gentle touch for his patients. Beyond the dental chair, Dr Arash enjoys socializing with friends and family, exploring local Canberra markets, hiking, sailing, and immersing himself in the world of comedy.
